Our client, a leader in advanced electronics manufacturing and innovation, is seeking a Senior Firmware & Embedded Software Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Firmware & Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of the System Design and Electrical Engineering Group supporting cutting-edge projects in hybrid electronics and IoT applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a passion for innovative technology, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Firmware & Embedded Software Engineer
Location: San Jose, California
Pay Range: $150,000 - $185,000
What's the Job?
- Develop firmware for low-power, ARM Cortex-M based embedded devices that interact with various sensors and peripherals, including BLE, accelerometers, and external flash.
- Understand and implement power management, boot loaders, scheduling, inter-processor communication, and firmware/system interfaces on RTOS and bare-metal environments.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to debug pre-production boards and iterate designs until fully functional.
- Define and document software requirements and design methodologies to ensure clarity and maintainability.
- Develop manufacturing tests for firmware to validate electronics and firmware performance in production environments.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of embedded software development experience.
- Proficiency with RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Experience with embedded software design and programming in C/C++, including debugging and performance analysis using Python.
- Deep understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.
