Overview Join to apply for the Research Assistant role at Inside Higher Ed . The Research Assistant will support UCLA Anderson faculty members Valentin Haddad and Tyler Muir on research projects in Finance and Economics, focusing on Financial Economics. Responsibilities Conduct literature reviews of published papers in various areas of economics. Collect or scrape data from webpages and other sources. Perform econometric analysis of data. Solve quantitative models and provide regular status updates on tasks. Exercise independent judgment, take initiative, and manage deadlines. Qualifications Strong quantitative skills, proficiency in STATA or R (Required). Excellent oral and written English communication (Required). Ability to work with competing deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and follow through tasks to completion (Required). Excellent grades in quantitative coursework (e.g., computer science, math) (Required). Ability to work independently (Required). Prior research assistant experience (Preferred). Skilled in performing statistical analyses on large databases (Preferred). Ability to prepare research protocols and manuscripts for publication (Preferred). Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Applied Math is preferred and/or equivalent experience/training (Required). Special Conditions for Employment Background check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation. Age requirement: Candidates must be 18 years or older to be eligible for hire. Schedule Standard hours are from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Job Type Full-time Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range.
