Overview

The Insurance Claims Estimator / Adjuster Liaison is responsible for managing the insurance estimating and claim resolution process for all mitigation jobs. This role serves as the primary point of contact between Dreyer’s DKI and insurance carriers after mitigation work is completed.

This position is responsible for writing, submitting, defending, negotiating, and finalizing Xactimate estimates and invoices, working directly with insurance adjusters to ensure fair claim resolution and timely payment.

The individual in this role must be confident, detail-oriented, and skilled in insurance communication and negotiation. This position works closely with operations and leadership and is expected to uphold the mission and core values of Dreyer’s DKI.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold Dreyer’s DKI mission and core values
  • Write accurate and detailed Xactimate estimates for mitigation jobs
  • Complete final estimate revisions and prepare invoices for submission
  • Submit estimates, documentation, and invoices to insurance carriers
  • Serve as the primary liaison with insurance adjusters and property owners
  • Defend estimates using industry standards, documentation, and scope justification
  • Negotiate claim payments to reach fair and accurate final settlement amounts
  • Resolve discrepancies between estimated and approved amounts
  • Track claim status and follow up to ensure timely payment
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with adjusters, carriers, and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate claim records and documentation
  • Identify patterns or issues with carriers and communicate trends to leadership
  • Assist in improving estimating and claim processes
  • Represent the company professionally in all written and verbal communications

Qualifications / Additional Responsibilities

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance estimating, claims handling, or restoration industry
  • Proficient in Xactimate (required)
  • QuickBooks Experience (Preferred)
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims processes
  • Experience communicating and negotiating with insurance adjusters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously
  • High level of ownership and follow-through
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with basic computer systems and claim documentation tools
  • Committed to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
