We're recruiting for a hands-on Farm Operations Manager to lead livestock operations for a respected agricultural organization in the North Manchester area, near Fort Wayne, Indiana . The company offers relocation assistance for the right candidate.
This leadership role focuses on
calf production and overall livestock care, overseeing 1,500-4,000 head across several nursery facilities. You'll spend about 70% of your time in daily farm operations and 30% in administration-developing your team, monitoring performance, and ensuring top-tier animal health and efficiency.
What You'll Do: • Oversee daily calf and livestock operations across multiple nursery farms
• Lead, train, and schedule a dedicated farm team
• Manage calf health, nutrition, and facility performance
• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Support research and continuous improvement projects
• Collaborate with regional livestock leadership on planning and reporting
What You'll Bring: • Proven livestock or dairy management experience (calf background strongly preferred)
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to balance hands-on work with administrative tasks
• Degree or background in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field preferred
• Physically able to work in farm environments (lifting 50 lbs, indoor/outdoor conditions)
